Renault India has named the former head of sales, marketing and aftersales at General Motors India, Sumit Sawhney, as executive director, marketing and sales.
Sawheny joined Renault on 18 October but will take up his new role from 1 November.
Sawhney will replace Len Curran who is moving to Europe by early 2013, to the Economic Times reported. He will report to Marc Nassif, MD of Renault India.
Nassif said: “We are confident that, with his vast experience and understanding of the dynamics of the Indian automobile industry, he will ensure that Renault India is on the right path to grow rapidly. It is time for Renault to localise not only products (which it has rapidly done) but also the talent pool for human resources.”
Sawhney worked at GM for 12 years and at Fiat for two years.
