Reuters reports that Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to launch two new variants of its premium Bolero utility model within the next three months. They are aimed at new customer segments.
The company has reported a jump in its utility vehicle sales and better profitability since the launch of the Bolero model last autumn.
Rajesh Jejurikar, vice-president of marketing at Mahindra & Mahindra, told Reuters that a ‘Camper’ Bolero variant is planned for Mid-March launch with a double-cab pick-up slated for May.
The report adds that Mahindra and Mahindra has a 47 percent share of the Indian utility vehicle market, but has been experiencing tough compatition from Toyota, which launched its Qualis utility vehicle in 2000.
