General Motors India on Friday said it boosted July sales 25% to 5,706 units.
The company sold 3,570 Chevrolet Sparks, 921 Taveras, 501 Aveos, 344 Optras and 370 Captivas, according to the Economic Times of India.
“The monthly surge in sales figures is primarily driven by the Chevrolet Spark which has emerged as a great value for money proposition,” the company said in a statement.
“Despite a sluggish market, our positive monthly sales figure is a clear indication of the success of our carlines. Chevrolet Spark has made serious inroads in the Indian small car segment,” GM India vice-president P Balendran said.
He said to meet the increasing demand for Chevrolet brand of vehicles, the company is on a network expansion drive and aimed to set up a total of 190 sales and service points across the country by the end of this year.
