Around 2,600 workers at Bosch India’s Bangalore plant have been on strike from 16 September, as they demand a pay rise.
The company said the strike “will be considered as illegal”, IANS reported.

A union representative said: “Since we have informed the management about going on strike through the notice early this month, none of our members has reported for duty from first shift earlier in the day.”
For the past several months, the company’s management has been negotiating with the trade union (Mico Employees Association) over the amount of a pay rise. While the workers are demanding an increase of INR20,000 (US$327) per month per employee, Bosch has offered INR17,000.
The company has another manufacturing plant in Bangalore, at Naganathapura. It has two more units in the country – one at Jaipur, Rajasthan and another at Nashik, Maharashtra. For the last few months, Bosch has been holding wage negotiations at its other three plants as well.
