The managing director of Titan Industries, Bhaskar Bhat, may succeed Prakash Telang as managing director of Tata Motors, after Telang retires in June, an Indian media report said.
Ravi Pisharody, current president of the commercial vehicles business unit (CVBU) at Tata Motors, is also a frontrunner for the post, Business Standard reported.
Unlike Pisharody, Bhat has no experience in the commercial vehicle sector.
A Tata spokesman declined to comment.
