Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company reported that its global vehicle production fell by 6.1% to 270,172 units in June 2026, down from 287,783 units a year earlier. Production in Japan continued to grow last month, by 7.8% to 65,569 units, but this was more than offset by a 10% decline in overseas output to 204,603 units.

In the first six months of 2026, Honda’s global vehicle production declined by 3.3% to 1,679,637 units, down from 1,736,381 units a year earlier, with an 11% rise in Japan to 361,738 units more than offset by a 3.5% drop overseas to 1,317,899 units.
Vehicle production in North America rose by 6.6% to 871,963 units year-to-date, driven by an almost 10% rise in the US to 543,655 units.

Production in Asia dropped by 31% to 376,470 units, including a 38% plunge in output in China to 197,874 units.
Registrations in Japan were slightly higher at 320,593 units in this period, with a 2% decline in mini-vehicle sales to 137,237 units offset by a 2% rise in sales of other types of vehicles to 183,356 units.
Exports from Japan fell by 11% to 46,280 units in the first half of the year, with shipments to Europe rising by 14% to 23,943 units, while exports to North America plunged by 66% 4,611 units, and demand in other key overseas markets remaining mostly weak.
