Stephan Schaller will take over as president of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles division from the 1st January 2007.
He will take over from the incumbent Bernd Wiedemann, who will retire, as planned, at the age of 65, reported dpa-AFX news agency.
Schaller is 48 years of age and is currently head of production. He has previously held positions with Linde and BMW.
