Porsche has bought an adjacent site to its Zuffenhausen facility for expansion once the present occupants complete their move in 2009.
The site is currently used by Dürr but the previous owners were primarily leasing companies.
“With the purchase, Porsche has created new expansion opportunities, for the administrative departments in particular, at its HQ,” the automaker said.
The Dürr site, which measures 68,000sq m, borders directly on Porsche plant 1.
Around 100 of the sports-car manufacturer’s workforce are to have their offices moved to the new site shortly but Porsche won’t have full possession until early 2009 when 900 Dürr employees move from Stuttgart to the company’s new, enlarged Bietigheim-Bissingen base.
