General Motors Europe has added another 1,000 cars to its ‘safety check’ programme for Opel/Vauxhall Corsa and Adam models, following on-site investigations at a supplier.

The additional 1,000 cars in Europe were delivered since February this year. These vehicles have also been manufactured with a steering system part that does not meet specification and should not be driven prior to inspection.

A total of about 9,000 cars now need the part replaced.

GME said last week that, of the initial 8,000, 3,000 were in the UK.
