President and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn wants Nissan “to become the most distinctive Japanese brand in Europe.”

He was speaking to European journalists at the launch of the new British-built Primera, due on sale early next year. The car will be the first in the European ‘D-segment’ to have Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), a rear view camera and a new centrally-located control unit which operates all major functions.

Nissan plans to sell 120,000 units per year in Europe, raising its share of the D-segment market from 3.7 percent to 5 percent.
