Delphi Automotive Systems has closed its Bochum, Germany production facility, in-line with its March 2001 restructuring plans to close nine facilities, consolidate activities at 40 others and reduce its global workforce by 11,500.
The Bochum facility is the eighth of the nine facilities targeted to close in the restructuring.
The 154,000 sq. ft. plant had 329 employees and produced ignition cables and wiring assemblies for European car makers.
That work has now been transferred to other factories in an effort to consolidate production capacity within existing manufacturing operations.
