Ten big car retailers are interested in selling Chinese cars in Europe, according to Automotive News Europe (ANE).

The report said Germany’s AVAG Holding, the IM Group of the UK, Kroymans of the Netherlands, and Spain’s Berge Automocion are in talks with several Chinese car makers. Dealer sources said Austria’s Porsche Holding, Europe’s largest dealer group, and Emil Frey of Switzerland also are in discussions with Chinese car makers. But those companies declined to comment on their plans.

Chinese automakers such as Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp., Nanjing Automotive, Chery Automobile and Geely Automobile aim to sell cars in Europe within the next four years.

Industry sources told Automotive News Europe that about 10 major groups are looking at the prospect.
