Continental has said that Nikolai Setzer will be taking over the temporary management of its car tyre division, in addition to the position he already holds as head of the replacement business car and light truck tyre division Europe and Africa.
In his new function he will report to board director Hans-Joachim Nikolin, who represents the commercial vehicle tyre division and also, for the time being, the car tyre division.
Despite the changes, Continental said there would be no change to the current company structure with the two tyre divisions remaining in place.
Setzer (37) is an industrial engineer, who joined Continental in 1997. He has held various positions, including head of the global original equipment car tyre business with DaimlerChrysler, head of research & development car tyres and global original equipment activities car tyres.
