Robert Bosch GmbH has held a ‘roof-wetting’ party for the builders of its biggest current construction project, the erection of a new development and application centre for automotive engineering in Abstatt, close to Heilbronn, Germany.
Construction of the centre, which started a year ago and should be completed by mid 2003, represents an investment of €200 million.
The site will house 2,000 staff, the majority engineers and technicians working on new active driving and safety systems as well as braking systems for the chassis systems division.
Joining the chassis systems division at the new site will be Bosch subsidiary Asset GmbH which offers engineering services in the application and integration of new systems in automotive engineering to other divisions as well as to automotive manufacturers.
