GAZ Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Haka Group, a large industrial corporation of Saudi Arabia. The deed was signed in the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The memorandum was signed by Christian Kremer, senior vice-president for Sales and Marketing of GAZ Group, and Sheikh Khalid Hassan Al-Qahtani, CEO of Haka Group, in the presence of Director General for International Relations and Communications of the Ministry of Commerce and Investments of Saudi Arabia Abdulrahman Al Hussein and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Morozov.

Alexander Morozov underlined the effectiveness of the OEM support activities in the Russian Federation to increase the export capacity of Russian companies. He pointed out that GAZ Group is a leading company in terms efficient presence on foreign markets, and signing of such memorandum is another step to promote Russian products on the global market.

Christian Kremer, senior vice-president for Sales and Marketing of GAZ Group added: Saudi Arabia has good potential in terms of commercial vehicle sales. Thus, in cooperation with our partner we plan to start sales of Ural heavy-duty trucks, GAZelle and GAZon Next light commercial vehicles already in 2018. We also consider Saudi Arabia as a springboard for further business development throughout the entire Arabian peninsula and the Persian Gulf countries. 

GAZ Group sells vehicles to over 40 global markets. Within the past few months it has made a big step in business development on four continents. In June 2017, the company signed an agreements on GAZelle Next LCV sales to Jordan with distributor Al-Sultan. In August, GAZ Group established own subsidiary in Turkey and started localised production of GAZelle Next all-metal and combi vans. In September, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Eastern Petroleum, the largest diversified business group of the Philippines. The latter received the rights to distribution and aftersales servicing of GAZ LCV’s in the Philippines. In Latin America, GAZ Group presented Next vehicles and buses at Expocruz 2017 annual international trade fare in Bolivia in the end of September.
