Renault may extend its partnership with Daimler to include luxury cars, the French carmaker’s chief executive officer Carlos Ghosn has told French magazine Nouvel Observateur.

Although there is no agreement at the moment he added that this does not mean that there will not be one in the future.

Ghosn also said that the brand, the design and the marketing of the cars will remain unchanged. There will be crossover, however, in areas where the client will not notice, such as platforms, engines, gear boxes, parts and industrial techniques.

Daimler and Renault have announced that they will co-operate on the small-cars and engine development.
