News car sales in France fell 3.8% last month according to figures from the country’s CCFA industry association.

New car registrations dropped to 160,162 cars in October, down from 166,495 during the same month a year ago.

Over ten months, car sales totalled 1,497,477 units, up 1.4% versus last year.

French brands were down 1.5% in October to 89,211 units, while foreign brands were down 6.5% to 70,951 units. Ten months, French brands were up 6.1% to 839,816 units, while foreign brands declined 3.9% to 657,661 units. 

The French car market is struggling to grow this year in the face of a weak French economy.
