Ford sold 113,300 total vehicles in its Euro 20 markets in April, up 12.6% compared with April 2017.

Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) sales grew more than 32% in April, driven by record EcoSport sales (up 92%), record Kuga sales (up 15%) and a strong start for Edge. SUVs now account for nearly one of every five Ford vehicles sold in Europe.

The Fiesta was the top car in its segment with market share of 10.5% at the end of March, the latest data available. Ford had its best April for Fiesta sales since 2015.

Ford had its best April for commercial vehicle sales since 1993 and best April for commercial vehicle market share since 1996.

Transit family sales of 22,700 were the highest ever for April, and Transit led the MCV one- and two-tonne segment through the first quarter based on latest available data from the end of March.

High-series vehicles – including Titanium, Vignale, ST-Line, ST and RS – made up 69% of passenger car sales in Ford's traditional 20 European markets in April, up 4.9% year over year.

Retail and fleet customer sales accounted for 70% of Ford passenger vehicle sales in the top five European markets in April, better than industry average.

Ford sales grew in 17 of its traditional 20 European markets in April compared with a year ago, with notable gains in Britain (total vehicle sales up 22.8%), the Netherlands (up 20.5%), Belgium (up 16%), Germany (up 13.7%) and Poland (up 13.5%).

Ford remained the top single nameplate brand in the UK for total vehicles, passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
