Faurecia has opened a new technical centre in Silicon Valley to strengthen its relationships with automakers, startups, universities and companies in the mobility sector.

Faurecia will accelerate its start-up scouting activities in the region and build a technology platform for its Smart Life on Board and Sustainable Mobility innovation ecosystems. The tech centre will host one of the Group’s Artificial Intelligence teams.

“The opening of our tech centre gives Faurecia an opportunity to strengthen its position as the central link between all actors in the mobility sector,” said Faurecia CEO, Patrick Koller.

“The concentration of stakeholders crucial to our ecosystem will allow us to step up our transformation and enable us to offer solutions to attract new customers.”

The Group has been active in the region for more than five years and has forged ties with Stanford University and the world’s largest startup accelerator, Plug and Play.

Last week (10 November), Faurecia finalised the acquisition of a majority stake in Jiangxi Coagent Electronics, renamed Faurecia Coagent Electronics S&T.
