Faraday Future (FF) says Jeff Risher has been appointed as vice president of Product, Technology and IP Strategy.

Risher joins FF after having recently served as the head of intellectual property and litigation at Tesla.

Reporting to founder and global CEO, YT Jia, Risher is focused on overall product strategy, advanced technology adoption and relationships. Risher also leverages his experience in intellectual property strategy, licencing, and litigation by leading FF’s IP strategy and portfolio efforts development, reporting to global general counsel, Henry Liu.

Before Tesla, Risher served for nearly nine years in various senior legal and IP leadership roles at Apple, including as director of patent litigation and director of patent strategy and  licencing. In those capacities he managed and negotiated complex technology disputes, licencing engagements, and partnerships worldwide.

Risher has also held intellectual property-related positions at Abbott Laboratories in Chicago and the law firms Latham and Watkins and Rutan and Tucker in Orange County, California.

“Joining FF at this stage and in this product/technology strategy role, feels like a natural evolution for me, merging my passion for technology and product innovation with my legal and IP background,” said Risher.

“I am incredibly proud of the companies I’ve been privileged to work for and I am grateful FF is entrusting me with this opportunity to be a part of a new era of mobility and technology integration.”
