Russia increased output of road vehicles 6.9% to 1,079,636 in January-November 2000 from 1,010,208 in January-November 1999, according to provisional totals provided to just-auto.com by AO Avtoselkhozmash Holding (ASM), an automotive association in Moscow.
Eleven-month volumes grew year-on-year for three of four types of vehicles: 9.3% for trucks to 171,572 from 157,043; 9.0% for buses to 47,918 from 43,963; 6.3% for cars to 859,808 from 808,840. Only trolley buses fell – down 6.6% to 338 from 362.
Production for January-November 2000 was comprised 79.6% by cars, 15.9% by trucks and 4.4% by buses. Trolley buses represented under 0.1%.
Solely in November, auto output rose 0.4% to 96,777 in 2000 from 96,379 in 1999. Three of the four sectors posted gains year-on-year: 66.7% for trolley buses to 50 from 30; 5.5% for buses to 4,082 from 3,870; 1.1% for cars to 77,017 from 76,176. Only trucks declined – off 4.1% to 15,628 from 16,303.

Auto production rose 15.1% to 1,184,174 in 1999 from 1,028,765 in 1998. Each sector enjoyed upturns year-on-year: 23.4% for trucks to 179,072 from 145,117; 14.1% for cars to 955,479 from 837,599; and 7.8% for buses to 49,623 from 46,049. Data for trolley buses were unavailable.
Output for 1999 was composed 80.7% of cars, 15.1% of trucks and 4.2% of buses.
