Electrovaya has been awarded C$3.8m (US$3m) by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) to fund long-lasting Lithium Ion Ceramic batteries for commercial vehicles.
“We are delighted SDTC will support our activities in this fast growing space of electric commercial vehicles, where high performance batteries are needed to match increasing operational and safety requirements,” said Electrovaya VP business development, Raj DasGupta.
Electrovaya designs, develops and manufactures proprietary Lithium Ion Super Polymer batteries, battery systems, and battery-related products for energy storage, clean electric transportation and other specialised applications.
Electrovaya, through its fully-owned subsidiary, Litarion, also produces cells, electrodes and Separion ceramic separators and has manufacturing capacity of around 500MWh/annum.
Headquartered in Ontario, Electrovaya has production facilities in Canada and Germany with customers around the globe.
