Sales of new road vehicles in the Czech Republic grew 1.7% to 170,785 in 2000 from 167,970 in 1999, according to provisional results provided to just-auto.com by the Automotive Industry Association there.
Year-on-year, volumes increased: 1.9% for commercial vehicles to 21,295 from 20,907; and 1.7% for cars to 148,730 from 146,257. Buses decreased 5.7% to 760 from 806.

In 1999 versus 1998, sales of new autos expanded 2.2% to 167,970 from 164,291. Cars rose 3.6% to 146,257 from 141,155. Falls tallied: 19.4% for buses to 806 from 1,000; and 5.6% for commercial vehicles to 20,907 from 22,136.
