Colombian vehicle suppliers sold 7,238 units wholesale in January, an 11% rise from the 6,497 units sold in the same month of 2003, according to industry data.
Sales in January were down 15% from December’s sales, but that isn’t unusual as they nearly always decline following the holiday season, Dow Jones said.
The data is from Comite Automotor, an association of assemblers and importers to which Nissan does not report figures.
Chevrolet was the top selling car brand in Colombia in January while Renault and Mazda were second and third, respectively.
Comite Automotor’s statistics include buses, private vehicles, taxis and trucks and cover around 25 companies, which provide roughly 95% of the vehicles sold in Colombia.
