Volkswagen reportedly plans to offer CNY1bn (US$161m) of financial aid to its dealers in China.
Dealers who sell Volkswagen brand cars in China manufactured by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture will receive the funding, the Detroit News reported, citing Bloomberg.
FAW-Volkswagen spokesperson Li Pengcheng said: “Dealers are facing some hardships. Based on the current situation, we will surely help them out.”
In the first six months of 2015, the JV company’s sales declined 10%, according to Bank of America.
