Toyota plans to bring its full model line, including non-Toyota brand models, to China by seeking other Chinese partners.

Toyota Motor board member Akio Toyoda said the company plans to make brands such as Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino jointly with other Chinese vehicle makers.

The new deals will add to the car joint venture with Tianjin in north China and a bus joint venture in the south-west province of Sichuan.

Toyoda said that Toyota Motor is after a 10% slice of the Chinese car market through local production as it aims to boost its global market share from 10 to 15% by 2010.

Toyota’s present share is negligible but it shortly start building the unique 1.5-litre T-1 at its Tianjin joint venture at an annual rate of 30,000 units.
