Mazda will build its compact CX-5 in China from late 2013, though China sales will start with imported units.
Gasgoo.com, citing auto.sohu.com, said the vehicle apparently will be built at Changan Ford Mazda’s factory in Nanjing, according to an announcement on the region’s technology website which said a new five-door SUV, codenamed J53R, would be built there.
The reports noted Mazda has already said it would first sell the imported version, until domestic production hits full swing, probably in 2013.
