General Motors plans to double China sales over the next five years, the local chief said in comments published on Thursday.
The company expects to boost annual sales there to more than 2m vehicles in five years, state-run China Daily quoted GM China Group president Kevin Wale as saying, AFP reported. GM sold over 1.09m vehicles in China last year, up 6.1% year on year.
“We have all the key fundamentals in place,” Wale told the paper, adding the company planned to launch more than 30 new or upgraded models during the period, including five Buicks and five Chevrolets.
