GAC Motor, part of China’s Guangzhou Automobile Group, plans to step up its overseas expansion from 2015 by setting up overseas assembly plants and targeting new markets such as North America and Europe.
The company already exports vehicles to South America, the Middle East, Africa and southeast Asia albeit with limited success.

Greater effort will be made to increase sales in these regions including setting up local assembly factories in Russia and South America.
The company said it would export its latest models to help improve its quality image. It plans to exhibit the latest variants of its GA6 and GS4 models at the Detroit show later this month.
