BMW sales in mainland China rose 63.2% in August, the company said. For the first eight months of the year, sales were up 31.3%.


The carmaker sold 9,013 BMW and Mini cars last month, up from 5,523 units a year earlier.


The January to August tally was 54,263 cars. BMW sales up 32% to 51,832 units included 27,631 3 and 5 series cars assembled locally. Mini sales rose 22% to 2,431 units.
