Automotive Lighting has opened its third production site in the ‘Middle Kingdom’. The new plant is located in Xiaogan in the southeast Chinese province Hubei and 60 km northwest of Wuhan.

The plant, which is called Hubei Huazhong Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting, is a joint venture of Automotive Lighting. The managing directors of both companies participated in the inauguration. In his speech, the president of Magneti Marelli Eugenio Razelli described Automotive Lighting as one of the most important business units within the Magneti Marelli group. The new president of Automotive Lighting, Ermanno Ferrari as well as the vice president for international sales, Martin Moissl also attended the opening ceremony.

The production site covers a total of 44,000 sq m and offers jobs to about 160 people currently. High-quality headlamps and rear lamps for Audi, Ford, Honda, Mercedes, Opel, Peugeot and others will be produced there for the Chinese market. While the respective cars were a part of the opening exhibition, the marketing team of Automotive Lighting Reutlingen accompanied the inauguration with the presentation of various lighting systems.
