Sales of passenger vehicles in China reportedly rose to a record 830,000 units in April as the market continued to benefit from government stimulus measures designed to boost car sales.
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) is to report that passenger car sales rose 37% over last year to a record 830,000 units, according to the Xinhua news agency.
Xinhua also reported that total auto sales exceeded 1.15m units last month, also a record high.
CAAM is scheduled to officially release April sales data on Monday (May 11).
General Motors said this week that its sales in China rose 50% year on year last month. Audi has said that sales in China were up 21% on the year in April at 12,156 cars, fueled by strong demand for the long version of its A4 model.
