Bosch plans to transfer its German Mobility operations into a wholly owned subsidiary, as part of a broader reorganisation to streamline the group’s corporate structure.

Under the plan, Bosch’s Mobility business will be separated from Robert Bosch GmbH and operated through wholly owned limited liability companies (GmbHs) governed by German law.

As a distinct subsidiary, Mobility will oversee and align its activities more directly across operating units.

Bosch Digital, Global Business Services, and Global Real Estate will undergo the same transition.

The transition will encompass approximately 62,500 associates in Germany, the bulk of whom are based in the mobility sector, who will move to the newly created subsidiaries together with their employment contracts.

Mobility will remain the group’s largest division, having generated €55.8bn ($62.48bn) in sales revenue in 2025, accounting for roughly 60% of total group sales.

Robert Bosch GmbH will subsequently consist of more than 3,000 associates, primarily comprising the central research and advance engineering department and corporate headquarters.

The restructuring will be implemented in phases through the end of 2027, with the newly established legal entities expected to commence operations on 1 August 2027.

According to Bosch, this configuration will enable the division to supply global clients with tailored, integrated solutions from a single source, quicken decision-making, simplify processes, and direct investment more strategically into growth segments and innovation.

The structure will likewise open avenues for new business models and strategic partnerships, it added.

As part of this realignment, the subsidiaries will receive “greater operational autonomy”, while corporate headquarters will take on a “more strategic holding role”.

Robert Bosch GmbH management board chairman Christian Fischer said: “With the planned reorganisation of our corporate structure, we are creating the conditions that will allow each operating unit to unfold its full potential – with greater entrepreneurial freedom, short decision-making paths, and closer customer focus.”
