Informed sources in Belgium have told just-auto Ford is to completely shutter its Genk plant in 2014.
The US automaker is currently meeting its unions at the Belgian site, which employs around 4,300 staff and was potentially earmarked to produce the successors to the Mondeo, Galaxy and S-MAX models.
Ford is due to meet the regional minister president of Flanders and the Belgian prime minister later today (24 October).
