Toyota Australia will offer a turbodiesel engine option for the first time when the redesigned RAV4 – launched at the LA show – goes on sale.
Two- and 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engines will also be available.
All three engines will have six-speed manual transmissions as standard.
The 2.2-litre diesel and 2.5-litre petrol engines will be offered with optional six-speed automatic transmissions while the two-litre petrol will have a CVT automatic with seven-speed sequential manual mode.
High-grade variants will offer a power tailgate, blind-spot monitor, rain-sensing wipers and electro chromatic rear view mirror.
Sales start during the first quarter of 2013.
