Adler Pelzer Group (APG) is expanding its operations by acquiring a 100,000 square-foot facility in Oregon, Ohio.
With headquarters in Germany, the automotive supplier will invest US$10m into its operations and create around 80 new jobs, with the future possibility of further expansion and job creation.
“We selected this location because this region offered a site that was ready for our company to start up immediately and we definitely saw a favourable business environment,” said NAFTA business unit for Adler Pelzer Group, Alberto Buniato.
APG delivers components optimising acoustic performance and increasing thermal efficiency of vehicles. The company has built a network of manufacturing plants, research and design facilities close to the main automotive hubs in major geographic regions, in more than 70 locations with 12,000 employees worldwide.
“In our business, geographical proximity to OEMs is significantly important because we produce large components, meaning the cost of logistics is critical,” added Buniato. “We see this location as ideal between our customers to the north and south.”
The Regional Growth Partnership worked with JobsOhio, along with local partners in the city of Oregon and Lucas County. JobsOhio provided a grant for new machinery and equipment, while the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a Job Creation Tax Credit.
