Adient has unveiled third quarter net income increasing to US$204m, with adjusted-EBIT rising to US$336m.

Just-auto’s QUBE research service notes Adient, the Automotive Experience business unit of Johnson Controls, started as an independent, publicly traded company in October, 2016.

The company is the global number one supplier of automotive seating (based on production volumes), encompassing individual components (foam, metal structures, fabrics, covers and mechanisms) through complete seating systems.

Complete seat systems capabilities include logistics and supply chain management, just-in-time in sequence delivery, quality, craftsmanship and change management.

Adient has 75,000 employees operating 230 manufacturing/assembly plants in 33 countries worldwide, producing and delivering automotive seating for all vehicle classes and all major OEMs.

The company’s operational headquarters are currently in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but will move to metro Detroit in 2017. Other corporate offices are in Plymouth, Michigan, Burscheid, Germany and Shanghai, China.
