The UK’s auto industry registered a 20.9% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.08% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.09% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.21% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s auto industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 48.82% in October 2022, registering a 44.14% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 22.05% share, a decrease of 46.15% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.39%, registering a 41.38% decline from September 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 9.45%, up 140% over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 31.97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s auto industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Tata Motors posted 43 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 27.12% over the previous month, followed by Redde Northgate with 26 jobs and a 54.39% drop. Porsche Automobil Holding with 6 IT jobs and Mitsubishi Motors with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 150% growth, respectively, while Geely Automobile Holdings recorded a decline of 25% with 3 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.08%, down by 35.51% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.83% share, registered a decline of 47.27% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.09% share, down 57.14% over September 2022.
