Germany’s auto industry registered a 7.2% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.48% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.5% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.02% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s auto industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.89% in November 2022, registering a 46.52% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.29% share, a decrease of 34.85% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 9.41%, registering a 69.35% decline from October 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 3.47%, up 40% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 44.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s auto industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Porsche Automobil Holding posted 40 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 61.17% over the previous month, followed by Continental with 34 jobs and an 8.11% drop. Mercedes-Benz Group with 24 IT jobs and ZF Friedrichshafen with 20 jobs, recorded a 57.14% decline and a 25.93% decrease, respectively, while Valeo recorded a decline of 22.73% with 17 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.83%, down by 52.3% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.29% share, registered a decline of 41.1% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.88% share, down 44.19% over October 2022.
