The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 1.44% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 19.56% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2022, and recorded a 0.09% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops General Motors IT hiring in October 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by General Motors, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 69.33% in October 2022, and an 8.33% rise over September 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 21.33% in October 2022, and registered growth of 6.67%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 5.33% in October 2022, a 100% rise from September 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at General Motors

North America emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in October 2022 with a 78.67% share, which marked an 11.32% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 6.67%, registering a flat month-on-month growth. Middle East & Africa was the third leading region with a 6.67% share and a 28.57% drop over September 2022.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 4% and a month-on-month increase of 50%. Asia-Pacific stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 4%, registering a 25% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 72% share in October 2022, a 17.39% growth over September 2022. Ireland featured next with a 6.67% share, up 25% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 5.33% share, a decline of 42.86% compared with September 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead General Motors IT hiring activity in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.33%, up by 15% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24% share, a growth of 12.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.67% share, down 26.67% over September 2022.
