China’s auto industry IT recruitment activity drops 17.9% in April 2022

China’s auto industry registered a 17.9% drop in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 13.05% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.18% share in April 2022, recording a decrease of 1.84% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s auto industry in April 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 65.97% in April 2022, registering a 54.98% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 28.47% share, a decrease of 34.92% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.47%, registering a 25% rise from March 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 1.39%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 9.2% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s auto industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

Aptiv posted 31 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a drop of 22.5% over the previous month, followed by Tesla with 27 jobs and a 92.86% growth. BorgWarner with 15 IT jobs and General Motors with 11 jobs, recorded a 21.05% decline and a 22.22% flat growth, respectively, while Mercedes-Benz Group recorded an increase of 120% with 11 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.86%, down by 37.5% from March 2022. Entry Level positions with an 11.11% share, registered a decline of 52.94% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 9.03% share, down 81.16% over March 2022.
