Asia-Pacific witnessed an 8.9% drop in IT hiring activity in the auto industry in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
April 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.41% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for an 18.95% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 0.9% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 77.89% in April 2022, a 34.08% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 13.2% in April 2022, marking a 37.5% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 3.96% in April 2022, a 42.86% drop from March 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 2.64% in April 2022, a 30.43% decline over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 39.96% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s auto industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Visteon posted 112 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 80.65% over the previous month, followed by Robert Bosch with 57 jobs and an 80.48% drop. Mitsubishi Motors with 46 IT jobs and AB Volvo with 42 jobs, recorded an 820% rise and a 51.72% drop, respectively, while Aptiv recorded a 19.23% decline with 42 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s auto industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 61.72% share in April 2022, a 23.05% decrease over March 2022. China featured next with a 23.76% share, down 49.83% over the previous month. Thailand recorded a 3.96% share, a growth of 700% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.92%, down by 33.27% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.15% share, registered a decline of 35.26% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.77% share, down 51.19% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
