Renault is the first manufacturer to confirm that it will reveal a new model at this year’s Moscow motor show. The event runs between 29 August and 9 September.

In a statement issued to the media, Groupe Renault refers to the model in question as “a new, global, Renault C-segment Crossover”. The press release goes on to note the following:

“The new vehicle will be a real breakthrough for the Russian SUV-market, strengthening the leadership of Renault Russia in this fast-growing segment. The launch of this global model will open a new chapter in the history of Renault Russia. Russia will be the first country to produce and to start sales of this new Crossover. Production will be set up at the Renault Moscow plant, the first industrial site to manufacture the vehicle”.

This vehicle will supplement the Kaptur, which was announced by Renault in March 2016. This 4,333mm long SUV is based on the same platform as the Renault Duster and Oroch. Renault’s Moscow plant was the first to build it. Production commenced in July 2016.
