Japan – Car production is flat

There is no life in the Japanese car production arena. Like an almost dead calm sea, all it does is bob up and down a little. Output in May was 0.7% ahead of last year at 574,063 from 569,910, and for the five months it was fractionally down at 3,336,048 from 3,337,050. Those that are building micro cars continue to show gains, but those that were previously building for export markets are seeing their numbers dropping by the month, and that is likely to continue as the need to strengthen overseas operations continues.
