Daimler Truck is a truck manufacturer headquartered in Germany. In one notable project the company entered a partnership with Siemens Digital Industries Software on the development of a digital engineering platform that will allow Daimler Truck to further commercial vehicle innovation and the efficient product development and lifecycle management of trucks and buses.  

Part of this future vehicle development is electric trucks, and the company has already started production on the Mercedes-Benz eEconic, the second electric truck in the range and one designed for urban waste disposal use.

The company has also been experimenting with liquid hydrogen, testing a Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck fuel-cell prototype at its development center in Woerth. In partnership with Air Liquide the company celebrated the first successful liquid hydrogen (LH2) refueling of the truck where cryogenic liquid hydrogen at minus 253 degrees Celsius was filled into two 40 kg tanks mounted on either side of the chassis.

Daimler Truck also invested in product development through the opening of a new product engineering and IT center, the Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI) in Bangalore. The center will focus on research, product engineering and IT capabilities, including vehicle engineering, powertrain engineering, software development for electronic control units, computer aided engineering (CAE), computer aided design (CAD) and IT programming.
