The BMS can selectively provide electrical power to the M/G to assist the vehicle when climbing uphill or receive energy from the M/G during downhill travel to maintain battery charge levels.

This method ensures that the vehicle receives the necessary motive force when climbing uphill and maintains optimal battery charge levels during downhill travel.
