It was followed by Boeing with 7 cybersecurity patent filings, BAE Systems (6 filings), and Qualcomm (5 filings) in Q1 2023.

Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 14% share of total patent filings

The largest share of cybersecurity related patent filings in the aerospace, defence & security industry in Q1 2023 was in the US with 14%, followed by China (11%) and South Korea (6%). The share represented by the US was 1% higher than the 13% share it accounted for in Q4 2022.
