After last week’s news concerning top Nissan/Infiniti executive Andy Palmer’s move to Aston Martin, came another shift – a BMW German region head to replace Palmer at the helm of Infiniti.
That had me doing a double-take for a moment. Kruger? The head of production? Nope. Same surname, different bloke – Roland. The Kruger I had in mind – Harald – was on the move this week but only to the Mini plant in Oxford to help celebrate production of three million and talk to us about future assembly plans.
Separately, BMW announced another good sales month – August – and now seems on track for 2m sales this year, a record. Meanwhile, rival Audi has hiked its 2014 target to 1.7m. And Jaguar “took over” London for the XE reveal.
The move towards connected cars took another step with announcements from General Motors about its plans for Cadillac with Opel and Chevrolet chiming in as well.
Have a nice weekend.
