PAKISTAN: Police and rangers to buy armoured vehicles
Pakistan's interior ministry has instructed police and rangers in the four provinces to equip themselves with an armoured vehicle model manufactured by Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT). HIT chairman Lt-Gen Hamid Javaid said that the vehicle, called the Mohafiz, was bullet-proof and air-conditioned.

HIT chairman Lt-Gen Hamid Javaid said that the vehicle, called the Mohafiz,
was bullet-proof and air-conditioned.
Mr Javaid said that the interior ministry had directed the police and rangers
to purchase the vehicle for tackling emergencies and for maintaining law and
order.
