SeverGal, a joint venture between Russian steel maker Severstal and Luxembourg’s Arcelor, has opened a galvanizing line in Cherepovets, Russia, according to Reuters.
The plant will make up to 400,000 tonnes of galvanised sheet steel aimed at the Russian car industry. The joint venture will use Arcelor’s Extragal technology.
The joint venture represents cost US$210m and will employ 300 staff.
